Over $2 million in impact and counting.

The FINNEGANS Story

Drink Like You Care

Jacquie Berglund, FINNEGANS CEO and Rambunctious Social Entrepreneur, tells the story of FINNEGANS and the $2 million of community impact we have created since the first sip of our heavenly Irish Amber beer.

FINNEGANS has been in the “social business” for decades—long before that term was even known. This grassroots beer company started out of pure passion and a belief that businesses can do well and do good, and that basic needs are a basic right.

In 1999, FINNEGANS began contract brewing with James Page Brewing Company before moving to Summit Brewing Company from 2003–2018. The plan was to keep overhead costs low and focus on the mission of giving profits back to the community.

FINNEGANS was one of the first five craft beer brands in Minnesota. After the law was changed to allow breweries to sell pints at their sites, FINNEGANS knew it needed to shift to a different model. In 2018, FINNEGANS opened its brewery and taproom in the Elliot Park/East Town neighborhood.

The pandemic and post-pandemic realities were very challenging to overcome, and in 2024 FINNEGANS established a unique partnership with Fulton Beer.

These two well-aligned, community-minded, urban breweries are blazing a new trail for the craft beer market in Minnesota. FINNEGANS is now brewing its products at Fulton Beer, and plans to launch a “FINNEGANS residency” of its beverages, which will be served in the Fulton taproom beginning in October 2024.

FINNEGANS’ mission has always been to turn beer into food through its sister non-profit, the FINNEGANS Community Fund 501©3. The fund works with food bank partners throughout the Midwest to get nutritious produce to food shelves in every state

The FINNEGANS Community Fund has built a dedicated group of volunteers who support the brand and mission. Volunteers assist with food packing, farm gleaning, and a number of other activities.

Since FINNEGANS was founded, more than $2 million in impact has been generated thanks to fundraising efforts, partnerships, and support from FINNEGANS.

There have been a million fingerprints on this brand over the past decades, and it is all about folks having a point of entry; a way for them to plug in and make a difference in their community in a fun way. FINNEGANS is about—and always has been about—doing well and doing good.
