Rather than serving food, our food truck does the opposite. It accepts food donations. Think of it as a food drive on wheels. In partnership with The Food Group, the Reverse Food Truck furthers our mission to put hunger in the rear view.
Where do the donations go?
All monetary donations go to purchase fresh and local produce which in turn is donated back to the food shelves- this is all done through our partnership with The Food Group’s Harvest for the Hungry program. All non-perishable donations go to The Food Group food bank or their agency partners. Don’t worry, if you would like the donations to go to a particular food shelf that is not in The Food Group’s network, we can work with you.

How do I request the truck?
If you’re hosting an event or want to have a food drive at your place of business, please reach out. Barring any scheduling conflicts or traffic jams, we’ll do our best to help out. In order to be considered for the RFT to attend your event we must receive the completed request form below four(4) weeks before the event. **Please note that the Reverse Food Truck goes into hibernation for the winter months. We’d be happy to help get you food barrels to collect food at an event.**
The Reverse Food Truck is perfect for any event, read more here!
How do I start my own RFT?
Love the idea and want to start your own RFT in your community? Contact Jessica at jessical@finnegans.org and she can answer all of your questions (where do you start, how does one acquire a food truck, etc.) Our vision is to see these RFTs out and about so we are one step closer to ending hunger. We share everything to budgets to graphics and will answer all of your questions the best we can.
How do I volunteer with the truck?
We are always looking for volunteers to work and drive the truck (no special license required).
