Get out your shamrock gear. Get the green skirts, pants, shirts, wigs, jewelry and accessories prepped. It’s March ya’ll! Think I’m excited to rage? We at FINNEGANS, live for this month. We brew and brew so you can enjoy an Irish Amber, Dead Irish Poet, Armory Laker Blonde, or Tile Factory at home, in the taproom, or at your favorite bar. The party begins Friday, March 13th and runs all the way through the 17th, check out our website for more details. This is our 20th year to celebrate as a company, and on St. Patrick’s Day, we are celebrating our 2nd anniversary of having a place to call our own. Our taproom! You only get to celebrate a 2nd anniversary once, so we are bringing out two new beers for you, just in time for the big party. One a collaboration, and one 13 months in the making. As the bagpipes wail their siren’s song, let us give your taste buds a ride. Here is what I am so pumped up to tell you about.
3:17 to Cologne Kolsch Ale 4.5% ABV 18 IBU
We brewed this beer with our friends over at La Doña Cerveceria in Minneapolis. It’s our 2nd collaboration with these guys for our 2nd Anniversary. We did one last year for Cinco de Mayo, so the deal was they needed to do it again for our St. Paddy’s celebration. Pretty much their reply was “Yep.” We designed this beer to be completely sessionable and delicious. Brewed exclusively with German pilsner and Kolsch malts, and hopped with Czech Saaz and French Strisselsplatz . Lower alcohol and a higher carbonation to really let the noble and grassy notes of the hops shine, and the slightly toasted and the honey like qualities of the malts come out. Tapping on March 13th with a very limited amount of kegs available. Your choice of cheers. “Sláinte” or “Salud”
2nd Cerise Cabernet Barrel aged ale on Michigan Tart Cherries 7.1% ABV 32 IBU
What do you do for an anniversary ale? Age it in French Oak barrels that used to house a California Cabernet of course. We brewed this ale last January and barreled it up on February 1st of 2019 where it sat until August when the cherries were harvested and placed in the barrels. We placed 180 pounds of cherries inside, and let it sit for another 7 months. The fruit gave the beer the color of a Rosé wine, while the barrels and the fruit gives off the aroma of fresh cherries, coconut and vanilla. We are super excited to offer this beer to you as our anniversary offering. It will be available Saturday the 14th in draft and 750 bottles. Our second of the year in our Barrels of Life Series.
It’s been a busy first quarter of the year. We have brewed over 1000 barrels of beer here in Minneapolis, and we won’t be slowing down. We hope you appreciate all our hard work this time of year by stopping by the taproom for a pint, ordering a pint at your favorite local establishment, or by picking up a 12 pack from the liquor store. The point of this time of year is to celebrate your heritage or someone else’s. Most of all, we want you to celebrate this time of year with us! Enjoy all the hard work and long hours that go into making consistently delicious tasting beer. Sláinte. We brew these beers for you! Make FINNEGANS your destination for all St. Patrick’s Day festivities!
