Happy New Year! Dark Week has arrived! No wait, Dark Month! We are changing up this year’s usual festivities, they may look a little different, but everything is still jam-packed with dark beer.
For those of you that love something silky, rich, chocolatey, roasty, and dark as night, Dark Month is made for you. Of our sixteen taps, we have seven that will be dark beers ranging from the last keg of Raspberry Brown stout to the last keg of Biere de Garde available for growler fills! Find out when each is available here. Our 750ml cooler is still stacked up with many stouts and dark ales for your choosing. With it being a New Year and this special month to us at FINNEGANS, we are releasing a new Barrels of Life beer on January 28th.
We are going to miss your faces, live music at the taproom, and raising a pint together. But, Dark Month must carry on! We are thankful to BSG for the quality malts that build the delicious flavor notes of all of our dark beers. Join us for the BSG sponsored live-stream improv tastings, hosted by T2P2. So, crack a can of Dead Irish Poet stout and sit back and psych yourself up for a full month of celebrating delicious dark beer.
Northern Arms Imperial Scottish Stout 8.8 ABV 75 IBUS
Brewed with roasted and black malts, flaked oats, and Amarillo, Simcoe and Columbus hops. A little bit of smoke, hops, and tobacco on the tongue and an aroma of toast, chocolate, and lemon zest. Brewed with a Scottish strain of yeast and named for my Father-in-Law who grew up in Armadale, Scotland on North Street as a child. Available for growler fills Jan 14th.
Starry Night Oak Aged Stout 7.8%ABV 30 IBUS
Brewed in December of 2019 and put into barrels in January of 2020. This Belgian-style stout smells of blackberries, stone fruit, and a little funk. Aged in our wild oak barrels for a whole year, this beer has changed from month to month. Reminiscent of Biere de Garde slightly but with a lot more chocolate character and that beautiful stout quality that the month of January deserves. A nod to the vast and brilliant night stars that are best enjoyed in dark skies. Available in 750 bottles beginning Jan 28th until the taproom opens up again.
Along with this month of deliciousness, we have brewed and packaged a new Celtic Pack for the St. Patrick’s Day season for you to get at your local liquor stores. Along with our Irish Amber Ale, Dead Irish Poet Stout, two new beers are available as well. Mischievous Pixie Lager and Hailstones Scotch Ale. Plan on looking for it soon at your local retailers. Another year of stouts in the winter. Some may say why, when we say, “why the hell not!” Cheers and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
