What experience did you take away that has been the most helpful in your job now?
The experience most beneficial for me was my ever-changing role. Some would complain about this, but I took a liking to it because it taught me adaptability. It taught me to think in new ways and analyze challenges in alternative forms. For my current position, this was a desired trait. The employer wanted an individual who is comfortable in multiple roles and settings.
How did your experience at FINNEGANS help you land your job you have right now?
FINNterning with Finnegans developed and refined a skill set fit for the professional world, but it also did more. I feel more confident in myself, and in my work, with the conclusion of this experience. I like to think that I am more confident because of the responsibility dealt to me throughout this experience. I did not expect to have great responsibility in an internship, but I welcomed the opportunity as I knew it was for the better.
Do you feel more connected to your local community? Do you feel like you have made a positive impact in your local community?
For Finnegans, I interpret “community” in a much larger sense – in fact, a very large sense that encompasses the entire Upper Midwest region. I feel connected to the beer community, the nonprofit sector, small towns, big cities, and the greater good that Finnegans serves with its actions. Finnegans truly is the beer that binds us together. Visiting a CSA farm allowed me to see firsthand how Finnegans efforts are assisting communities in Minnesota.
What was your favorite part of FINNternship?
My favorite part about the internship was representing Finnegans at events, such as the Irish Fair or Twin Cities Beef Fest. Connecting with fans and supporters of Finnegans was just a good feeling, even more so when I was able to introduce someone to the charitably delicious.
