Meet our Fall 2015 FINNterns!

At FINNEGANS it takes a dedicated and talented team to keep us running. A crucial part of our team is the FINNterns.  From social media, events, communication to sales analysis and data collection, our FINNTerns have their hand in everything!  This fall, our FINNterns are from Twin Cities colleges and universities like St. Thomas and Augsburg. These bright students get real, hands-on experience working with a social entrepreneurship, as well as excellent networking opportunities with professionals all over the Twin Cities.

chelseaAccount Outreach FINNtern: Chelsea Buechler

I am a senior at the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, MN studying business with a concentration in Marketing Management. I first learned about FINNEGANS from my roommate, Claire, and I was so excited to learn more about the FINNEGANS mission. I have a passion for local products, supporting the community and beer!

Fun fact: I am a twin, I’ve lived in 5 different states, studied abroad in London, England, I am a Green Bay Packers fan and can’t whistle a tune to save my life.

madisonEvents Lead FINNtern: Madison Pierce

I’m also a senior at the University of St. Thomas where I’m  majoring in Communication and Journalism with a concentration in advertising and minoring in Justice and Peace Studies.

I found myself at FINNEGANS because of my passion for both craft beer and social justice issues. Why not enjoy great beer and help alleviate hunger?

When I’m not at FINNEGANS or in class, I’m exploring local craft breweries, catching a show at First Avenue or nestled on my couch browsing petfinder searching for my furry soulmate.

Jess' PhotoMedia Support FINNtern: Jessica Mechtenberg

Hello beer lovers and do-gooders! I’m Jess! I’m originally from Sioux Falls, SD. I’m currently a senior at the University of St. Thomas majoring in Marketing Management. This semester I am taking the role as the Media support FINNtern, meaning I’m the glue that hold the office together. I will be helping out with a variety of media related tasks, from designing sell sheets and posters to making sure that materials are available online and in the office.

I was drawn to FINNEGANS for a number of reasons. First, with my classes in Morality and Justice and Peace Studies, I found a passion for wanting to give back, and I have hopes to create a non-profit of my own. Second, I have family history in farming, and I think it’s wonderful that FINNEGANS supports local farmers. Lastly, being a creativity enthusiast, I thought the idea behind giving back through selling beer was brilliant! I mean who doesn’t love to enjoy a good beer? Then knowing 100% of your purchase goes to feeding the hungry makes enjoying it that much better!

Fun fact: I studied abroad in London, England last spring and was fortunate enough to visit over 10 countries AND was lucky enough (no pun intended) to spend St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin, Ireland.

I’m from Japan and  everyone calls me “Yuma” in the U.S.. I am a Business Operation FINNtern at FINNEGANS and my favorite FINNEGANS beer is Blonde Ale. In my spare time, I like thinking about food, cooking food, or eating food (I love food!). I am motivated to make positive changes in the community and am excited to work hard at FINNEGANS.
