FINNEGANS Community Leader Program

If you are interested in developing hands on leadership experience while making a difference in your community, please read further, this could be a great opportunity for you! FINNEGANS, a leading social enterprise in the Midwest, turns beer into food by donating 100% of profits for hunger alleviation. As the 5th largest MN beer brand, FINNEGANS has plans to create further impact not only MN but WI, ND and SD and is looking for high energy, socially minded self-starters to join our Community Leader Team.

As a TeamFINNEGANS Community Leader, you will be engaging current FINNEGANS non-profit partners, accounts, and beer distributor via grass roots marketing efforts. Your work as a collaborative catalyst and pied piper in your comity will increase sales, thereby increasing donations and helping more people in need, right next door. Furthermore this role provides the opportunity to improve your network, business soil set, and will provide you a birds eye view of the inner workings of a leading social enterprise.

FINNEGANS will host a full day welcome & training kick-off at FINNEGANS Int’l Headquarters to provide Community Leaders with the know-how needed to succeed.  This will include company history, strategy and goals, sales specific training, PR training by Haberman PR Firm, and a section on leadership by our very own Jacquie Berglund.  Each quarter further training and development sessions will be held remotely.

Your TeamFINNEGANS team will be comprised of 2-3 Community Leaders.  The larger team of Community Leaders will be comprised of teams from 10 priority markets across MN, ND, SD & WI.  Depending on skill sets, each Leader’s role can be any combination of the following:

Coordination & Partnership Lead:  Management

  • Main contact for team, HQ & Distributors
  • Make connections with farm and food shelf partners, strengthen their connections with FINN network
  • Responsible for stipend tracking
  • Coordinate Happy Hours; identify strategic accounts to beat with personal knowledge and in work with Beer Distributors
  • Schedule and coordinate off-premise samplings
  • Build Partnerships
  • Identity retail accounts with partnership opportunity
  • Look out for win-win opportunities that build community and the FINN brand
  • Recognize like-minded audience and like-minded organizations to create strategic partnerships with.

Volunteer & Events Coordinator:  Events and Management

  • Main recruiting contact for your TeamFINNEGANS volunteers; continued volunteer communications
  • Pub Crawl: recruiting lead, merchandise point person
  • Provide Happy Hour support, ideas, input, act as day-of host
  • Update and maintain events calendar, events in Salesforce
  • Timely communication with FINN Headquarters
  • Volunteer contact database upkeep
  • Events prep, staff volunteers and day-of host

Communications Lead:  Marketing/PR

  • Build list of PR contacts from FINN existing list, outreach and media drops to contacts
  • Oversee merchandising; this includes signage at bars/restaurants, consistent and correct branding, ideas for improving FINN message in your community.
  • Marketing of events
  • Social media:  Facebook & Twitter
  • Highlight/communicate the needs and what is great about your community

Team Goals & Objectives

  • 75% of buying accounts have POS/Merch
  • Recruit and engage 20 people for volunteers
  • 75 new supporters online (social media)
  • Collect emails and zip codes
  • 8 Happy Hour events (2 per quarter)
  • 3 samplings per month
  • 7 per month during the months of Feb, March, Nov and Dec
  • 2 local press stories on FINNEGANS through the year
  • 10 staff trainings (can be combined with samplings)
  • Speaking opportunities locally to share the FINNEGANS story
