TeamFINNEGANS Volunteer Crew

Description:

The FINNEGANS Volunteer Crew is an exciting new chapter in FINNEGANS history. The Crew is being developed to help lead one of the largest portions of our business – the Volunteer Brigade that helps us raise close to $30,000 a year in donations (just from volunteers and events), and more importantly, fulfill our mission. The Crew is made up of four leads that will work directly with the Volunteer Coordinator on the FINNEGANS staff. The group meets monthly in order to help guide and implement the activities of FINNEGANS, aid the organization in being true to its mission, and reach its organizational potential.

Available Positions:

Volunteer Engagement and Recruiting Lead

Spark Partnerships:

  • Develop strategic alliances with other community organizations and business organizations outside the Twin Cities and find ways to leverage these alliances to help FINNEGANS to meet its mission and organizational goals

Train & Welcome Volunteers:

  • Host volunteer trainings at the FINNEGANS office and also be able to train in volunteers remotely.
  • Be a pied piper- be the first to welcome volunteers, get people excited to be there. Sends out welcome information and helps to keep volunteers informed of upcoming activities.
  • Track new volunteers, all-stars and no-shows

Engage Volunteers:

  • Creates new and exciting ways to engage volunteers on a regular basis including events (i.e. “all-star” program or happy hours)
  • Work with Volunteer Coordinator for increasing participation at FINNEGANS events
  • Assist with developing  a centralized mechanism for training all of our volunteers and “evangelists” on how to share the FINNEGANS message in a consistent manner

FINNLeadership:

  • Promote events via social media
  • Represents FINNEGANS brand in the community
  • Attends and participates in monthly Volunteer Crew meetings
  • Maintains key relationships with Volunteer Coordinator and fellow Volunteer Crew Leads
  • Maintains a one-year commitment to the role and helps to find possible back ups at the time of transition.
  • Events LeadEvent Coordination:
    • Acts as lead FINN representative at events including key relationships with event coordinators from partner organizations; able to work without supervision.
    • Recruit volunteers for FINN events
    • Assist in tracking rockstar volunteers as well as no-shows.
    • Provide event recap and any follow up notes to the Volunteer Coordinator

    On-Site Event Lead:

    • Assist in checking in TeamFINNEGANS volunteers at events; guides volunteers throughout events including redeploying as needed. Also ensures a quality/brand experience for the volunteer (i.e. breaks as needed).
    • Assist in setting up and tearing down FINNEGANS booth
    • Train in new volunteers at first time events

    FINNLeadership:

    • Promote events via social media
    • Represents FINNEGANS brand in the community
    • Attends and participates in monthly Volunteer Crew meetings
    • Maintains key relationships with Volunteer Coordinator and fellow Volunteer Crew Leads
    • Maintains a one-year commitment to the role and helps to find possible back ups at the time of transition.

    Reverse Food Truck (RFT) Event Lead

    RFT Coordination:

    • Develop/maintain RFT calendar of events and make decisions on what events the RFT should be involved in based on criteria
    • Recruit and train RFT volunteers
    • Coordinates with local food banks for food pick up after events
    • Acts as lead FINN representative coordinating events including key relationships with event coordinators from partner organizations; able to work without supervision.

    RFT On-site coordination:

    • Assist in checking in TeamFINNEGANS volunteers at events; guides volunteers throughout events including redeploying as needed. Also ensures a quality/brand experience for the volunteer (i.e. breaks as needed).
    • Maintain RFT standards in cleanliness and materials needed in the truck; informs Volunteer Coordinator of any needs to help maintain life of truck.
    • Drive the RFT to and from events and help train in RFT driving volunteers. Has driver’s license with no driving infractions.

    FINNLeadership:

    • Attends and participates in monthly Volunteer Crew meetings
    • Maintains key relationships with Volunteer Coordinator and fellow Volunteer Crew Leads

Interested in joining team FINNEGANS in a way that builds your resume?  We’re looking for high energy, socially minded self-starters, who is goal oriented to join our Team and gain real world experience! Be a part of Social Enterprise in action as a pied piper for the brand and leave your mark on the company and community.

Experience innovation in the making to address a social issue: participate and observe how this process works.  Internships offered range from the following:

Account Outreach Work with retail accounts to build relationships and impact.

Events & Social Media Lead Work with events partners, volunteers and more, lead social media and be in on all marketing.

Media Lead Work with Sales Team and Marketing Team to create key messaging documents, posters for retail accounts, campaign specific sales tools and web graphics.

Sales Analysis & Operations  Work with Sales Team to report and analyze sales activities, samplings and more.  Increase efficiency and accuracy of reporting, databases and operations.

4 month with option to extend to 8 months.  Monthly Educational stipends $350/mo. to help cover expenses for Events & Social Media Lead, Media Lead.  Account Outreach is pay for performance based.
