For over ten years, FINNEGANS has been serving delicious beer to the Midwest, while serving the underserved nutritious food in one fell swoop. When starting FINNEGANS, our founder Jacquie found inspiration from Billy Shore’s Share our Strength organization, which had a for profit entity that helped fund their non profit activities. Now that we’ve become established in the Midwest and beyond, we were thrilled to find out that our model has inspired a new socially-minded business to sprout up—this time, all the way across the Atlantic.

Two Fingers Brewing Company is a new brewing company that recently began production in the United Kingdom. Like FINNEGANS, they donate all of their profits to a cause they believe in. Their crusade is fighting prostate cancer, the most common cancer among men. They recently contacted us to let us know that our beer-slinging-for-good model was a part of their inspiration.

FINNEGANS has always been about the greater good, and we’re absolutely thrilled that our do-good spirit is picking up momentum and moving beyond what we alone can do. It’s like all of the efforts of our employees, volunteers, and partners over the last ten years have caused ripples that reached across the Atlantic Ocean, doing far more good than we even knew.

The global economy is very different than it was twenty years ago, and traditional models of philanthropy, though they have done much good, aren’t going to be able to provide for tomorrow the way they have in the past. We need more innovative ideas for helping the underserved, and when new enterprises like Two Fingers pop up half-way around the world, we can’t help but feel optimistic about the future.

Cheers, Two Fingers. Here’s to doing good together.
