We here at FINNEGANS are always trying to find new ways to do good. We here at FINNEGANS are always trying to find new ways to do good. Our beer model is by far the tastiest method we’ve found, but this month, we thought we’d try teaming up with some other organizations that share our mission of helping people in need. That’s why we started our Small Pints competition.

Small Pints is a fundraising competition that will be happening on Give to the Max Day. Instead of running our own Give to the Max Campaign, we decided we’d set up matching donations with three small nonprofits for their Give to the Max initiatives. We will match donations up to $1500 for each one, and whichever raises the most money will receive an additional $500!

The three nonprofits we are partnering with are Full Cycle, Campus Kitchen, and Open Farms.

Full Cycle is a program that teaches youth how to fix up and build up bicycles. They gain valuable working experience, and after putting in enough work, they get to build their own bike. The youth then also deliver fresh produce to food shelves on their bikes.

Campus Kitchen runs out of Augsburg College. They take food donations, cook meals in the Augsburg Campus Kitchen, and then deliver them to individuals and agencies in Augsburg’s neighborhood, including after school programs, homeless shelters, elderly and disabled individuals, and low-income people. Along with meals, the volunteers bring conversation, engaging the people they serve on multiple levels. They strive to bring empowerment-based education along with meals, teaching people about nutrition and cooking on a budget.

Open Farms cooks meals from food from their local farms, then delivering them to individuals with life-threatening illnesses. They are part of the larger organization, Open Arms, which operates with the goal of keeping anyone with a life-threatening illness from going hungry.

We are very excited to be working with all three of these nonprofits, as they all do work that we love. You can donate to them on this page on Give to the Max Day, which is November 15. This year, you can schedule Give to the Max donations in advance, so if you don’t want to forget on the 15th, you can donate any time!

Thanks for helping us do good,

-Matt Beachey
